#NewAtParcos: Issey Miyake Le Sel D’Issey
Japanese designer Issey Miyake is revered for shaking up the fashion world with his cutting edge designs. And in 1992, he partnered with Beauté Prestige International (SHISEIDO EMEA) to create fragrances inspired by his philosophy. The launch of L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme in 1994 created waves in the beauty industry and cemented Issey Miyake’s brand as a force to reckon with. The fragrance drew inspiration from the infinite beauty of nature and now, 30 years later we have the new Issey Miyake fragrance for men, Le Sel D’Issey.

What Does Issey Miyake Le Sel D’Issey Smell Like? Explore The Notes
Like everything the brand stands for, the fragrance profile of Le Sel D’Issey is clean, modern and chic. The juice is an olfactive celebration of the humble salt or sel, which holds a significant meaning in Japanese culture where it is valued for its purifying benefits.
Reminiscent of this ebb and flow of tides on the shore, the notes of Le Sel D’Issey move in a sense, as they evolve on your skin. The first impression is a plunge into the sea, thanks to the accord of salt and a refreshing accord of ginger. Interestingly, the notes of Laminaria Seaweed in the heart of the fragrance helps the fragrance seamlessly transition to its woody base notes of oak moss, cedarwood and vetiver that linger on the skin.
The fragrance was created by master perfumer Perfumer Quentin Bisch, who says, “I wanted to create the scent of the exact moment the waves roll back, transitioning between the earth and sea. Salt is the memory left behind by a wave on the earth and on the skin, almost like an imprint.”
“NATURE IS THE ESSENTIAL SOURCE OF MY INSPIRATION”

Le Sel D’Issey Packaging
As a designer, Issey Miyake knew how to shock the world with simplicity, and in a world cluttered with ornate flankers, Le Sel d’Issey stands out. The bottle design is an ode to masculinity with its strong lines, brushed metallic finish cap and subtle elliptical curve. The maestro behind the design is long time brand collaborator, Tokujin Yoshioka, who received instructions from Mr. Miyake himself, and drew inspiration from the brightness of light and the pure, life affirming energy of salt.
Why Issey Miyake Le Sel D’Issey Is Worth The Hype
If you enjoy aquatic fragrances, Le Sel D’Issey is an absolute must have. This fragrance is a modern rendition of all the elements that make L’Eau D’Issey such a winner. Like its predecessor, Le Sel D’Issey is fresh and layered while maintaining the sense of minimalism the brand is known for. But, it is the combination of aquatic-woody notes amplified by the salt accord that sets this fragrance apart. We’d even go so far to say that this salt accord lends an almost addictive quality to the fragrance, which will make it popular for daily workwear, casual occasions and laid back coffee dates. With an impressive performance and projection, it is best used on hot, humid days, when you’re craving a refreshing plunge into the cool sea.
