#NewAtParcos: Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau De Parfum
YSL Libre is a fragrance that has taken the world (and Instagram feeds) by storm, and for good reason. It’s a scent that embodies the essence of freedom, empowerment, and boldness – everything the modern woman stands for. This iconic fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent Beauty asserts itself as a collection of icons, with each creation driven by boldness, youth and the avant-garde. In the wake of Saint Laurent, who showcased the spirit of the times for nearly 40 years, YSL Beauty continues its unbridled love affair with women to create, shape and develop modernity. After 7 years and over 1500 variations to precision-cut its lush accords, Libre emerged from the match between the two Master Perfumers, Anne Flipo & Carlos Benaïm.

The Fragrance
Libre is a bold and floral feminine fragrance for those who live by their own rules. It contains lavender essence from France combined with the sensuality of Moroccan orange blossom and a daring note of musk accord for a unique scent.
A celebration of freedom, this daring, yet distinctly floral and feminine perfume is for those who do what they want and dare to be exactly who they are. Breaking boundaries and paving their own way, this women’s perfume is inspired by the bold and the free.
The Bottle
The bottle is a couture statement featuring a black asymmetric cap like a sexy couture dress. The flacon mirrors the masculine/feminine bent of the scent. Think, the trim geometric lines of a well tailored suit. It also has gold chains around the neck that are reminiscent of the iconic YSL it-bags, and the design is completed with the timeless Yves Saint Laurent logo.
The Notes
Who better to explain the notes of the fragrance than the master perfumers who created this scintillating perfume?
In the words of Anne Flipo, “In the top notes, orange blossom absolute is paired with its essence, neroli, along with mandarin, which contrasts with the lavandin.
In the heart, jasmine sambac underlines its sensuality, gives it more color and strength. Salicylates are like a sunbeam – they’re like Yves Saint Laurent’s signature gold.
In the drydown, I played on an ambergris and vanilla accord that makes the orange blossom more smoldering.”
Carlos Benaïm describes the architecture of the fragrance with, “There’s tension at each stage of the note’s development, between orange blossom and amber, citruses, woods… That’s the whole point of making so many modifications: you’ve got to make the scent vibrant from start to finish.”
What’s The Hype?
This fragrance is absolutely worth the hype! It’s a sleek, seductive fragrance with a slight edge to it. An intoxicating combination of citrus, floral and warm vanilla & musk notes will awaken your senses when you apply this fragrance – ideal for those romantic date nights or whenever you wish to feel powerful. Another plus? The incredible longevity and sillage which envelops wearers in an air of enigma.
